Applicant

An Applicant is a person or entity (natural person or legal person) which submits an application in response to a call for proposals. The Applicant is the institution which engages the Principal Investigator. In the case of Synergy Grants it is the Lead or Correspondent Principal Investigator). The term "participant" is used in the more limited sense of a member of a proposal or project consortium.
