Statement of Principles for Scientific Merit Review

Leaders of the major funding organizations from 44 countries met at a global summit in May 2012 and adopted the following statement of principles. In the context of the agreed document, the terms "Merit Review" and "Peer Review" are used interchangeably. For the ERC, this means that it will continue to use its highly recognized peer review procedure based on scientific excellence only.
