Dr Ekaterine Sanaia holds a Ph.D. in Physical and Mathematical Sciences. She was an intern at the San Diego State University in the USA and is currently a professor at the Georgian Technical University and invited professor at the San Diego State University in Georgia. At present, she holds the position of Deputy Director of Ilia Vekua Sukhumi Institute of Physics and Technology. She has worked on several international scientific programs during which she demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the capability to handle her work with a high degree of expertise. Dr.Sanaia was the manager of several international scientific projects founded by Horizon 2020, CRDF, GRDF, STCU, ISTC, and SRNSF and has published more than 60 scientific works in Georgian and International journals. She has received the following scholarships: 2010, 2011 - Georgian National Science Foundation scholarship; 2009 - Matsumae Foundation Scholarship; 2006- 2007, 2008 - CRDF & GRDF scholarship; 2006 – Georgian Academy of Ecology’s corresponding member; 1999 - A. Didebulidze scholarship. Dr. Sanaia has a professional certificate in Management from the Open University, UK, and is a Fullbright and Matsumae International Foundation fellowship recipient.
