Malin Ah-King is an evolutionary biologist (PhD) and Associate Professor in Gender Studies at Stockholm University, Sweden. She is an expert in gender/queer perspectives on biology and feminist science studies of evolutionary research about sex. Her recent book The Female Turn – How Evolutionary Science Shifted Perceptions About Females (Palgrave Macmillan 2022) traces how the inclusion of diverse perspectives enabled evolutionary biology to transform its understanding of females from being coy and passive, to having active sexual strategies. Her current project explores a controversy over sex differences among evolutionary biologists. She has published in a wide range of scholarly journals, such as Nature Communications, Evolutionary Biology, Lambda Nordica, PLOS Biology, Ecology and Evolution and European Journal of Women’s Studies.
