Petr Jan Juračka is one of today’s leading Czech natural science photographers. He specialises in photographs that often depict unexpected natural stories and phenomena, which he teaches at the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Charles University. 

As a naturalist, but also simply as a lover of adventure and challenges, he has travelled with his photographic and film equipment to six continents. He is the second Czech to have his photo on the cover of National Geographic magazine. He also has a large number of short scientific films and series.

The most famous film project he participated in was Who's Who in Mycology, an unusual feature film directed by Marie Dvořáková, which won the prestigious student Oscar in Las Vegas in 2017. He is the author of four popular books.
