Pierre-Yves Geoffard is a Professor of economics at (and former director of) the Paris School of Economics, a professor at EHESS, and a senior research fellow at CNRS. His research focuses on health policies, socio-economic inequalities in health, health insurance, and the regulation of licit and illicit drugs. He has published numerous articles in academic journals, in economics (Am Econ Rev, Econometrica, J Econ Theory, J Health Econ) as well as epidemiology / biostatistics (Biometrika, Epidemiology and Public Health), or philosophy (Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society). With Nathalie Bajos, Muriel Darmon and Michele Kelly-Irving, he is a co-PI of the Gendhi project, which is funded by the ERC (Synergy Grant). The project undertakes a multi-disciplinary approach to provide a better understanding of socio-economic inequalities in health, in particular the role played by gender and other social variables (income, education, job, location, ethnoracial status) and their intersection.
