Rocco Macchiavello is a Professor in Managerial Economics and Strategy at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). After completing his PhD in Economics at LSE, he was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford University, Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Harvard Kennedy School, and Professor at Warwick University. He is a Research Fellow at BREAD, CEPR, J-PAL and Lead Academic at The IGC and a Co-Editor of the Journal of Law, Economics and Organization. He studies global-value chains in developing countries, with a particular interest in sustainable sourcing practices in export-oriented agricultural and manufacturing sectors. He has conducted research in partnership with governments, NGOs, and MNCs in Bangladesh, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Kenya, India, Myanmar, Pakistan and Rwanda.
