Born in Bulgaria, Silvia Bojinova studied law at the "St. Kliment Ochridksi University in Sofia and at the University of Vienna (Mag.iur. of the Univesity of Vienna). She holds a Master degree in European Union law and EU Policies from the Danube University Krems in Austria. Ms Bojinova studied as well at the Harvard Kennedy School in the USA, at the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) in Maastricht, the Netherlands and at the European School of Administration (EUSA) in Brussels, Belgium.

Ms Bojinova joined the European Commission in January 2007 as a Research Programme and Project Officer. At present she is a Senior Policy Officer and a Team leader for the European Neighbourhood countries in unit “Horizon Europe Association” at the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (RTD) of the European Commission. Ms Bojinova leads the team on relations with the European Neighbourhood Partnership countries and acts as the Science Diplomacy contact point of the Unit within DG RTD.

Ms Bojinova prepares, coordinates, and advises on the association process of interested third countries to Horizon Europe and implementation of R&I relations, with a focus on Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Tunisia, and Morocco. She coordinates the Eastern Partnership regional Research and Innovation dialogue and supervise the Unit’s activities related to the Southern Neighbourhood/Union for the Mediterranean and the EU-African Union R&I cooperation.
