Valeria is a researcher and data analyst with nearly two decades of work experience across multicultural, international, and public-oriented organizations. She joined the European Commission in 2021 and currently works for the Ethics Sector of the European Research Council (ERC), the premier European funding body for cutting-edge frontier research. In her capacity, Valeria oversees the implementation of guidelines and processes to ensure ERC-funded research complies with the highest ethical standards, relevant legislation, and EU fundamental values. She also actively contributes to advancing the ERC's understanding of emerging trends in frontier research ethics, with focus on digital ethics and responsible AI. Valeria holds a PhD in Economics and Social Sciences from the Vienna University of Business Administration, which complements her practical experience. She frequently delivers keynote addresses and presentations at international events, along with guest lectures at universities, drawing from her extensive background as both a lecturer and vocational trainer.
