The ERC funded project COMPASS will be displayed on the R&I stand which will aim to show how, through Horizon 2020 - the biggest research and innovation programme in the world, the EU is supporting scientists, researchers and innovators from across Europe and beyond to make your life better and your future brighter.

COMPASS looks at ways to alter the current space mission design by exploiting natural and artificial orbit perturbations in order to significantly reduce the high cost of space missions and to create new opportunities for space exploration. The project will be presented by grantee Camilla Colombo’s team members Juan Luis Gonzalo Gomez, Matteo Romano, Erica Stella and Gianna Campaioli who are based at the Politecnico di Milano and will include two virtual reality interactive games. Wearing 3D glasses, participants will be able to travel through the solar system and closely observe planets and the moon as well as watch Earth-orbiting satellites moving among space debris.
