Professor of Education at TECHNION, Israel

Professor Miri Yemini is a comparative education scholar, and a full professor tenured at Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. She has research interests in internationalisation of education in schools and higher education, global citizenship education, and education in conflict-ridden societies, with a particular focus on the learning experiences of young people.

Prof. Yemini is an active member of the Comparative and International Education Society and a past President of the Israeli Comparative Education Society. Her publications have been cited over 5050 times, and she has undertaken editorial roles in leading academic journals in the field.

In parallel to her academic tenure at Technion, she has proven expertise in managing large-scale research projects, and holds an MBA. Her aptitude for overseeing and successfully delivering complex education programmes initiatives led to an invitation to collaborate with the Israeli Ministry of Education on the development of curricula and programme assessment, contributing significantly to the improvement of educational systems. Her international experience spans institutions such as UCL’s Institute of Education, Free University of Berlin, and the University of Leipzig.

In addition to her academic achievements, Professor Yemini has made substantial contributions to the field of comparative education through her extensive work with international organisations, notably UNESCO.

She received a prestigious Jean Monnet Module grant from the European Commission (EACEA) for teaching and research on internationalisation in education (2016-2019). In 2018, she was awarded a prize for Research Cooperation and High Excellence in Science (ARCHES) by the Max Plank Foundation. She also secured funding from the Humboldt Foundation, under the framework of scholarships for experienced researchers and has won research funding from the Israeli Science Foundation. Currently she is leading an ERC CoG funded project, aimed at exploring youth activism.
