Aleksandra Deczkowska has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW; Poland) and Gent University (Belgium). She did her Ph.D. and post-doctoral training at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel with pioneers in neuroimmunology and immunogenomics, Michal Schwartz and Ido Amit. Currently, she leads the Brain-Immune Communication Lab, at the Immunology and Neuroscience departments at Institut Pasteur in Paris. Her lab strives to understand the fundamental pathways of immune-to-brain communication in development, aging, health, and disease so that in the future, the human immune system could help cure brain diseases. ERC is central funding source for this project.
