André Schirotzek

Head of Sector for Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science in the Scientific Department of the European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA)

Dr. André Schirotzek is the Head of Sector for Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science in the Scientific Department of the European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA). He holds an M.Sc. degree in physics from the University of Hamburg and received his Ph.D. in Quantum Optics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2010. After a postdoctoral fellowship in Berkeley, he joined the University of California at Irvine as the Managing Director of an NSF-funded research centre. Prior to joining the ERCEA, he was a Project Manager and Head of Administration at a Max Planck Institute.
