Andreja Umek Venturini

Andreja Umek Venturini is currently senior advisor at the Science and Innovation Directorate at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Slovenia. Since 1999 she is employed at the Ministry responsible for science. Her main responsibility is cooperation of Slovenia in the EU research and innovation programmes from the stage of their development on the EU level to the stage of supporting Slovenian research organisations to successfully participate in the EU programmes. In this regard, she also works as a National Contact Point for the European Research Council (ERC) in Slovenia from its very beginning. She cooperates closely with Slovenian Research Agency to introduce measures helping researchers to be more successfully at gaining the ERC projects and at the same time supporting research institutions with targeted information and advice how to applying to the ERC calls.
She holds a PhD degree in computer and information science from the University of Ljubljana and her first employment was at the Institute “Jožef Stefan”.
