Associated Professor in Informatics and Computer Science at University of Library Science and Information Technologies

Boyan Jekov serves at the Ministry of Education and Science of Bulgaria as the National Coordinator for Horizon Europe, the European Union's research and innovation programme. In addition, Boyan, is a member of the Horizon Europe programme committees Strategy, Cluster 3: Civil Security for Society, and Cluster 4: Digital, Industry, and Space. He is also an Associated Professor in Informatics and Computer Science at University of Library Science and Information Technologies and scientific director of master’s degree programmes in Software Engineering, Cybersecurity and Digital Forensic and Data Science.

He is Chairman of Nihon Tomono Kai, club 'Friends of Japan in Bulgaria' with 40 Japan related organisations in Bulgaria and Chairman of JICA Alumni - Bulgaria - organisation of graduates of training in Japan funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

He has worked as a consultant and expert of e-Governance at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Council of Ministries of Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA), the Bulgarian Association of Information Technologies (BAIT) and on projects with the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Regional Development, Ministry of Education and Science, and Ministry of e-Governance.
