Bruno Béu

Bruno Béu is an advisor to the FCT Board of Directors in the areas of national and international science policy, strategy and research evaluation, and has contributed to the design of several new FCT programmes, including the ERC-Portugal programme, of which he is the director. At the European R&I level, he is the national delegate to the ERC configuration of the Horizon Europe Programme Committee, the co-chair of the ERA’s Structural Policy on Research Assessment, and Portugal’s national expert in the area of research security. He also serves as co-chair of the CoARA’s Portuguese National Chapter. He is a national delegate at the OECD Committee for Scientific and Technological Policy, and the focal point for the Portuguese delegation in the Science, Technology and Innovation area. 

He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Lisbon, where he led interdisciplinary research, having also taught at the School of Arts and Humanities. He is the author and editor of two books and several articles and book chapters.
