Csaba Janáky obtained his PhD degree at the University of Szeged (Hungary). He was a Marie Curie fellow at the UT Arlington (USA) between 2011-2014. Since 2014, his research group with the support of the ERC, is focused on materials and energy-oriented electrochemistry for solar energy conversion. More recently, he has been focusing on system level development and scale-up for CO2 electrolysis and hydrogen generation. His team has developed different flow-cells to test diverse reactions and catalysts under industrially relevant conditions. He has published over 125 papers, filed 20+ patents. He is the Founding Director of the Greennovation Center at the University of Szeged, encompassing over 60 researchers. He is a co-Founder and Chairman of eChemicles, a company scaling-up and industrializing CO2 electrolysis, selected as a Top Innovator by the World Economic Forum – Uplink program.
