Cassandra Koh is an Indonesian vector biologist and virologist at the Institut Pasteur in France. Her research centers around the question “What makes mosquitoes good vectors of viral diseases?”. She obtained her PhD at Monash University in Australia, where she studied the Aedes aegypti mosquito, the principal vector of dengue virus and other arboviruses. As a postdoctoral fellow, her primary research interest focused on investigating the spatial and temporal virome dynamics across diverse mosquito species using metagenomics and microbial ecology approaches. Awarded the ERC Starting grant in 2024 for the project MULTITUDES, she now leads a research group exploring the biology of newly discovered mosquito viruses and how they affect the ability of mosquitoes to transmit disease through a One Health lens.
