Daniela Pigosso
Daniela Pigosso is Professor of Design for Absolute Sustainability at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and a member of DTU’s Centre for Absolute Sustainability. Her research advances the frontiers of engineering design, rebound effects, the circular economy, and sustainability science. By bridging research and practice, she contributes to shaping academic thought, driving industrial innovation, and informing policy development.
She is the Principal Investigator of the ERC Consolidator Grant project REBOUNDLESS, which pioneers the concept of reboundless design to prevent rebound effects in sustainability-oriented technologies, products, services, and systems. Daniela also leads the ERC Proof of Concept project REBOUNDLESS POLICIES, which focuses on developing policies resilient to rebound effects in collaboration with organisations such as the Joint Research Centre (JRC) and the European Environment Agency (EEA).
Her contributions have transformed sustainability practices across sectors and earned her distinctions including the Grundfos Prize and the Jorcks Foundation Research Prize. Daniela serves on the Advisory Boards of the Design Society and the ASAP Service Management Forum, and she is widely recognised for her high-impact research, strategic collaborations, and mentorship.
