Frank Kuhn

Frank is Head of Sector for Social Sciences at the European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA) in Brussels. With a doctorate in political science and over 20 years of experience in research funding and scientific evaluation, he brings a unique perspective at the intersection of science, technology, and society.

His career began at the European Science Foundation in Strasbourg, where he created opportunities for dialogue that made science more accessible and engaging to diverse audiences. Since then, Frank has dedicated himself to connecting leading researchers with policymakers, innovators, and other societal stakeholders to enable informed debate on pressing global challenges.

At the European Research Council, he has played a central role in designing and moderating high-level conferences and workshops on strategic themes such as sustainability, artificial intelligence, and science diplomacy. Frank is particularly passionate about weaving together diverse discourses and unlocking collective expertise to push the boundaries of what science can achieve for society.
