Hans Alves studied Psychology at the University of Heidelberg and Arizona State University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Cologne and was a visiting researcher at New York University, the University of Lisbon, and Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. In 2021 he was appointed professor of Social Cognition at the Ruhr University Bochum. Hans Alves researches the cognitive basis of attitude formation, social perception, and judgment and decision-making.
