Professor Ilaria Capua, DVM, PhD, MD hc is a Senior Fellow of Global Health at Johns Hopkins University SAIS Europe.
For over thirty years, Ilaria Capua has led research groups in Italy and in USA, focusing on zoonotic infections and their pandemic potential. In 2019, she conceived the concept of Circular Health, which promotes the advancement of health as an integrated system through a broad multidisciplinary approach which is implemented through the SDGs. She is a columnist and author of books for the general public. From 2013 to 2016, she served as a member of the Italian Parliament as vice president of the Science Culture and Education Commission.
