Head of the Laboratory for Cell Biophysics at the Ruđer Bošković Institute
Iva Tolić is the head of the Laboratory for Cell Biophysics at the Ruđer Bošković Institute in Zagreb. She earned her PhD between Zagreb and Harvard, followed by postdocs in Copenhagen and Florence. She went on to lead her own group at the Max Planck Institute in Dresden for 10 years before bringing her science home to Zagreb. For her discoveries of cell division mechanisms, she has received numerous awards, including the Order of the Croatian Danica and the Ignaz Lieben Prize of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. She is a member of Academia Europaea and EMBO, and a recipient of two ERC grants — Consolidator and Synergy.
