Laura Vang Rasmussen
Laura Vang Rasmussen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management, University of Copenhagen in Denmark, where she runs the Livelihood, Agriculture, Nutrition, and Deforestation (LAND) lab. She holds a PhD in Geography from 2013, University of Copenhagen. Laura is interested in understanding and seeking solutions to the global challenge of feeding the world while conserving nature at the same time. She has led an ERC Starting grant (FORESTDIET) showing how wild foods can contribute to people’s dietary quality across Africa. And she is currently leading an ERC Consolidator grant (TRANSFORM-FARM) exploring how to transform farming systems across Africa with forgotten foods. Laura is the co-chair for the Scientific Steering Committee of the Global Land Programme, an interdisciplinary community with >3000 members of science and practice fostering solutions for global sustainability. Together with Prof. Grass, she led the publication ‘Joint environmental and social benefits from diversified agriculture’ published in Science – and international winning article of the Frontiers Planet Prize.
