Associate Professor at Tampere University. His research focus on atmospheric reactions leading to molecular growth and subsequent formation of ambient aerosols, and closely connected air-pollutant removal. Dr. Rissanen studies in-situ aerosol precursor formation with subsequent clustering and atmospheric new particle formation. His research recently demonstrated how the generation of condensable chemicals responsible for this airborne material is far faster than previously thought, requiring only fractions of a second to birth the culprits of worsening air.
