Samantha Christey

Samantha Christey heads the sector for global outreach and stakeholder relations within the Communication Unit at the European Research Council (ERC). She is responsible for strengthening the ERC’s international visibility, building partnerships with research organisations and policymakers, and leading outreach campaigns to promote ERC funding opportunities in Europe and worldwide. She joined the ERC Executive Agency in May 2009 as a Team Leader.

Before joining the ERCEA, Samantha held senior management roles in health-related companies and organisations, including the vaccines division of GSK, a plasma-derived products company, and the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer. She also gained experience in communication and public relations in Brussels and London and served as Press and Information Officer at the EU Delegation to the UK, the European Medicines Agency, and the European Commission.

Samantha studied Political Studies and Hispanic Studies at the University of London and holds a Master’s in International Business from London South Bank University.
