Sijme-Jan Paardekooper

Sijme-Jan Paardekooper studied astronomy in Leiden, the Netherlands, and has been studying the formation of planets since 1997. First at Leiden University, followed by the University of Cambridge and Queen Mary, University of London. Since January 2023, he is based at Delft Technical University in the Netherlands. His current research focuses on how tiny dust specks that exist in the vast space between stars, can come together to form bigger objects such as the planets in the Solar system, but also Extrasolar Planets.
This research is funded by the European Research Council in the form of an ERC Advanced Grant.
