Associate Professor, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Poland

Sławomir Porada is a scientist at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, where he earned his PhD in 2013. He conducted his doctoral research at WETSUS, the European Center of Excellence for Sustainable Water Technology in the Netherlands (2009–2013), followed by a Humboldt Foundation fellowship at the Leibniz Institute for New Materials (INM) in Germany and a VENI postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Twente. From 2020 to 2022, he led scientific projects at WETSUS.

Dr. Porada’s research focuses on ion transport and adsorption in porous materials, the development of advanced electrodes, and selective ion separation technologies, including capacitive deionization and ion-exchange membranes. His work addresses the fundamental mechanisms of ion transport, designing materials and processes that enable efficient separation of ions with very similar properties.

Currently, he leads a four-year “Polish Returns” project funded by the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). In the near future, he will begin an ERC Consolidator project at Wrocław University of Science and Technology, continuing his research on selective ion separations and sustainable water technologies.
