Zara Cherkezova-Zheleva

Zara Cherkezova-Zheleva is the National Contact Point (NCP) of Bulgaria and Programme Committee Member for the European Research Council (ERC).
She is also a research Professor in Solid State Chemistry. Her research activities are focused on materials science, environmental protection and circular economy: nanoscale materials, mechanochemistry, Mössbauer spectroscopy, relaxation phenomena, chemical environmental problems, green and sustainable chemical processes, recycling and reuse of critical and strategic raw materials. Currently, she is a group leader in Project 101007669 CHemPGM 'Chemistry of Platinum Group Metals' (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research and Innovation Staff Exchange, Horizon 2020), as well as Project 237 MW4REAM (ERA-MIN3, Horizon 2020).
She is an Advisory Board Member and Secretary at the Mechanochemical Division of the EuChemS; Advisory Board Member at "Working party in mechanochemistry" at IUPAC and the European Magnetism Association, the National Coordination Council "Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies" – Bulgaria (Head and Editor of the Section "Clusters, Nanoparticles and Composites"), Bulgarian Crystallographic Society, as well as a Member of the Mossbauer Effect and Data Center, Bulgarian Catalysis Club, Society of Tribologists in Bulgaria, Union of Chemists in Bulgaria.
She is a Chair or Member of the Organizing Committees of International Scientific Conferences, Workshops and Schools on Nanosciences, Crystallography and Heterogeneous Catalysis.
