A steering committee, chaired by ERC President Prof. Helga Nowotny, was put in place and launched an online consultation in April 2013 on how to shape the roles of SSH under Horizon 2020.

The objective of this consultation was to gather views on the current situation and ambition of researchers in the field of SSH, but also to identify the needs and issues at stake. It was closed in July 2013.

ERC presence:

Session "Presentation of Declaration - Horizons for SSH: What follows?" moderated by Helga Nowotny on 24/09/2013 from 16.00 to 17.30. The results of the conference and of the public consultation will be gathered into a declaration handed over by H. Nowotny to the Lithuanian Minister of Education and Science, Dainius Pavalkis.

Parallel Session " European Research Council Social Sciences and Humanities domain: widening participation" on 24/09/2013 from 14.00 to 15.30. Participants include ERC Scientific members Alain Peyraube (chair of the session), Nicholas Canny, Nuria Sebastián Galles. ERC grantees Natalia Letki (ERC Starting grantee 2009 based at the University of Warsaw, Poland), Vladimir Canudas Romo (ERC Starting grantee 2009 at the Syddanks university in Denmark) and Kenneth Hugdahl (ERC Advanced grantee 2009 based at the University of Bergen in Norway) will be amongst the speakers.
