TH25F: Supporting Top Researchers from Anywhere in the World: Funding Opportunities from the European Research Council
The European Research Council (ERC) supports individual researchers of any nationality and age who wish to pursue ground-breaking, frontier research in Europe. The ERC encourages in particular proposals that cross disciplinary boundaries, pioneering ideas that address new and emerging fields, and applications that introduce unconventional, innovative approaches. Scientific excellence is the sole award criterion. At this town hall, we will present the main features of ERC funding schemes including the re-introduced Synergy Grant, which provides funding of up to 14 Million EUR over 6 years for groups of 2-4 PIs. In addition, two ERC grantees, Sonia Seneviratne and Heiner Igel, will present their projects and talk about their experiences with the ERC evaluation process and the management of the grant.
Speakers:
- Prof Sonia I. Seneviratne, ETH Zurich, ERC Consolidator Grant Holder
- Prof Heiner Igel, Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, ERC Advanced Grant Holder
- Dr David Krása, Head of Sector Physical Sciences & Mathematics, ERC Executive Agency
