
In this tenth edition of the Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as "Summer Davos", the ERC will take part with 14 people: President Prof. Jean-Pierre Bourguignon, Vice President Prof. Mart Saarma and 12 ERC grantees. Based in Tianjin, China, this World Economic Forum event will gather some 1,500 participants from more than 90 countries, including top researchers, leaders from fast growing enterprises, government, media and civil society. The 2016 edition will address the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Its Transformational Impact.
The ERC speakers will participate in 9 sessions, including the ERC Ideas Lab, "Fighting Superbugs", on 27th June, on emerging strategies to fight drug-resistant infections. As a panellist in the Forum debate "Betting on Moon Shots", Prof. Bourguignon will discuss how the revival of corporate-led research affects scientific progress. Among various sessions, Prof. Saarma will speak about Parkinson's disease. Half of the ERC grantees are also part of the Young Scientists
