Enhancing the Attractiveness of European Universities as a Destination for World-Class Researchers

The event wants to be a platform for the debate and exchange of ideas on those strategies and good practices that can enable attracting and retaining top researchers, encourage competition and reward excellence. Different European, national and regional policy frameworks and research funding schemes shall be examined. A specific focus will be given to the added value of ERC's competitions, as a benchmark for European universities and national/regional research systems and as a driver for policy reforms. Lastly, as an inspirational target for top researchers, attention will be paid to the impact on ERC grant-holder careers.
