EU science and Technology week

"European Science and Technology" week was held at the Shanghai World Expo 2010 from 14-18 June. The ERC organised an dedicated ERC session and a press briefing during the week to provide factual information on the ERC's funding opportunities to the local, international press and to potential applicants.

Three recently awarded ERC grantees among which two Chinese carrying out their research in Europe were invited to talk to give their insight about the ERC grants and their research projects.

In addition to events which took place at the World Expo, the ERC met with a large group of "Science and Technology Fellows" at the Shanghai Science and Technology Hall, and flew to Beijing to meet representatives of the China National Natural Science Foundation, researchers and deans of faculties at the the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
