Science communication training for ERC grantees
As the European Research Council prepares to mark two decades of supporting scientific excellence in Europe, it is investing in one of the key skills of today's researchers: the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, responsibly and engagingly. To support this goal, the ERC is inviting expressions of interest from current ERC grantees who would be interested in participating in a training course on science communication.
The course will bring together approximately 40 ERC grantees from across Europe and all scientific domains for a 1-day, hands-on training programme designed to strengthen their ability to communicate research effectively, responsibly and confidently to a wide range of audiences.
Accommodation and travel expenses for the participants will be covered by the ERC.
About the training course
The training course will provide practical tools and techniques for science communication through expert-led sessions, interactive exercises, peer learning and networking opportunities.
Topics will include:
- Working effectively with journalists and media;
- Engaging with policymakers;
- Using social media strategically for science communication;
AI for science communication.
