Since the call opening in October 2017, 2018 Consolidator Grant competition is well under way.

Some interesting initial statistics:

• 2,389 applications were received by the cut-off date.
• The highest number of applications was submitted in the domain of Physical Sciences and Engineering (1053), followed by Life Sciences (701) and Social Science and Humanities (635).
• 765 proposals were submitted by women –similar to the number in 2017 (766).
