In memoriam – Anna Tramontano

10 March 2017

It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the passing away of Professor Anna Tramontano.

Anna was an outstanding scientist and Chair Professor of Biochemistry at the "Sapienza" University in Rome. An internationally renowned biologist, she was leading one of the top Italian research groups in computational biology.

She was also a highly esteemed member of the Scientific Council of the European Research Council (ERC), which she served from 2011 to 2014.

We pay tribute to Anna for her dedication and important contribution to the ERC and thankfully acknowledge her engagement and her friendship. An open-minded and passionate researcher, she carefully expressed her critical thoughts in a constructive way, which was highly appreciated. We express our sincere condolences to her family.
