The Scientific Council Working Group on Widening European Participation was set up with a mission to capitalize on the full potential for frontier research in Europe without departing from the ERC's principle of excellence.
The Working Group aims to contribute to a truly inclusive European culture of competitiveness in science by way of strengthening the participation of researchers in ERC calls from Europe less research-performing regions.
The task of the Working Group is to facilitate an all European dialogue, exchange of experiences, networking and learning about good practices in supporting the very best researchers to successfully apply to the ERC. This include systematic debate and interactions with relevant national stakeholders in weak participating regions by advising them on and promoting the local support for their most promising scientists.
